Happy April! Can’t believe how fast time is flying by! How are we already a quarter done with 2017?!
Anyway, the title of this post is called “bold, edgy, & classic, and that’s because I love clothes that encompass all three of those characteristics. This is exactly why I was so excited to discover 337 Brand and to collaborate with them! 337 Brand, located in NYC, is all about designing clothes that are effortlessly stylish, with a dash of daring.
I’m wearing the “mix mesh panel sweatshirt“ and I’m obsessed. The material is a light breathable cotton and it’s sooo soft! It’s not the heavy material that you normally think of when it comes to sweatshirts. I’m wearing a size small and it fits me perfectly. If you are looking for a slouchier fit, go one size up! There are mesh panels that run down the front (thin) and on the sides of the top. Feelin’ risque and want to show a little skin? Wear this without a bralette! Either way, with or without a bralette, it will look equally as cool.
I went for the ultimate “too cool for school” look and styled my sweatshirt with a pair of tuxedo trousers and my new Marc Fischer block heels with laser cut design throughout the shoes (just means that there are little hole patterns on the shoe, haha). But the beauty about this sweatshirt is that you can dress it up or down. Wear it like I did with a pair of sassy pants, with a feminine A-line skirt, or a pair of leggings. The choice is yours, and I guarantee you will feel bold, edgy, & classic.

Happy Wednesday! Mr. Photographer and I went apple picking this past weekend in Woodstock, IL, which is about an hour away. Apple picking has been a tradition for both of our families, so we are super excited to be continuing our tradition together :).
I knew exactly what I was going to wear, no pondering needed. Urban Outfitters was having a 20% off dresses sale last week and I stopped in at the store on S. State St. after work one day and found a red floral dress. It was flowy, but not too thin, and I knew right away that I was going to be taking this dress home! The dress is STILL ON SALE for $29.99, check it out here ! Such a great deal. The dress has a plunging split-neck opening in the front and has an open-back, so I wore a lacey bralette and didn’t have to worry about any accidents!! I ended up wearing my hunter boots to apple picking since it rained the night before…I didn’t want to ruin any of my other shoes if the ground was wet and muddy! Links below to my outfit & similar items!
Dress: Urban Outfitters – Ecote Tyler Split Neck Bell Sleeve dress (ON SALE for $29.99!) I’m also crushing on this Kimchi Blue Dragonfly dress here // Boots: Hunter in Black Matte from Nordstrom // Watch: JORD Wood Watch from the Fieldcrest collection in Zebrawood & Maple
What’s your favorite thing(s) about fall?! Leave me a comment below!
As many of you know, I love accessories and I am always on the lookout for a new unique piece to add to my collection. I am so excited to share with you all my new JORD Wood Watch! Yes—you read that correctly, WOOD watch. When I first discovered JORD Wood Watches, I was so mesmerized. It didn’t even cross my mind that you could make watches out of wood, so I was instantly hooked and curious to learn more!
The watch that I’m currently wearing is the Fieldcrest collection Zebrawood & Maple watch (retail $139). The Fieldcrest collection is more of a mid-sized watch, which was perfect for me because I didn’t want the watch to overwhelm my tiny wrist. JORD does have a wide variety of watches in different face sizes and wood materials too for men and women! Check out the rest of the women’s selection here! Also, I love that JORD gives you the option to size the watch to your wrist (with instruction on the site) so that it fits perfectly right when it is delivered to you….and free shipping worldwide too with an 1-yr warranty!
My JORD Wood Watch arrived in the mail a couple of business days later and when I opened it, it was in a custom wood box with the JORD “J” logo inscribed on it, as you can see below. The packaging is truly unique and adds to my excitement about opening the box to check out my new watch. I was immediately amazed at how elegant the watch looked, and how intricate the band and the watch face was. The band is Zebrawood and the inside of the watch is Maple, all natural wood from West Africa and Northeastern US. To my surprise, the watch was super light!
I immediately was thinking of all the different events I was going to pair my new watch with, and honestly, I couldn’t think of an outfit that the watch wouldn’t go with – be it summer, spring, fall, or winter! This watch is a great addition to my accessories collection, and it would be a great addition to yours and as a gift to friends and family too! I am partnering with JORD Wood Watch and giving you the opportunity to win a $75 voucher so that you can own a wood watch too! You’ll get $20 off your purchase just for entering! Contest ends on Sunday, 11/6/2016 so ENTER NOW (click to enter)! The winner will receive an email from JORD :)!

Who’s ready for October?! Pumpkin and apple picking season is upon us and I could not be more excited! Mr. Photographer aka boo and I have an apple picking date coming up! How about you?? There’s so much to look forward to about fall, from cozy slouchy sweaters, to burning amazing smelling candles (bath & body works, anyone?!), to Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Halloween! Living in the city makes me miss passing out candy to all the adorable trick-or-treaters!
When you the hear the words, fall fashion, you immediately think of booties, sweaters, plaid scarfs, and grays/blacks etc; however, I personally don’t see why the color white is excluded from the mix! Over the weekend, I was chatting with some girlfriends about wearing white after Labor Day, and it was mixed feelings for a lot of them. I’m all for white after Labor Day! The color white is such a staple in my wardrobe (as it is in many of your closets, I’m sure), so why limit yourself because of a so-called “fashion rule?” So, on today’s post, I’m showing you my white after Labor Day style. It was 85 degrees over the weekend so I went with a thin top, but I’m excited to wear cozy chunky sweaters/cardigans and even blazers with white jeans! Outfit details below! 🙂
My colorful striped top is from The Limited – it’s a top I’ll wear to work (either by itself or with a blazer) and on the weekends to brunch/dinner, totally versatile. The top is from last season, but The Limited always has a fabulous collection of great colorful tops! My skinny jeans are from Flying Monkey, which is sold out, BUT there’s this super cool ripped version from The Buckle by the same brand that is ON SALE, check it out here! Another great thing is that white jeans are on sale right now so I highly suggest buying a pair now if you don’t have any! My booties are from Forever 21, these are the 2nd pair of booties that I’ve bought from them (have these in Tan too) and they are SO comfortable and totally affordable (under $30). Check out some of my fav suede booties from Forever 21 here in a lower heel and here in a higher heels. To complete my outfit, I stuck with the colors and went with my blue Rebecca Minkoff purse! I love this blue purse because it literally goes with EVERYTHING and I love the pop of color! Check it out here and it’s ON SALE for only $118!
What are your thoughts on white after Labor Day?! Leave me a comment with your thoughts! Thanks for reading loves!
Happy hump day! With a blink of an eye, we are now in mid-September, HOW is time going by so fast?! The mornings are chillier and the air is crisper, aka fall is here. Today I am excited to share with you my first fall post :).
Just last week, I randomly found a Forever 21 giftcard stashed in one of my purses; low and behold, there was actually value!!! I was looking for a denim jacket so this was the perfect opportunity to see if I could save a few bucks and use the giftcard. I found this awesome distressed denim jacket (worn on today’s post), long floral flowy v-neck shirt (worn on today’s post, sold out but other favorites from forever 21 and free people), and this blush colored corduroy button-front skirt (color sold out but there is a hunter green one here, and similar suede one here from forever 21), all for around $50 after the 10% off coupon I had! SCORE!
I paired my new distressed denim jacket & floral shirt with shiny leggings from American Apparel and black booties. I WAS carrying my black Rebecca Minkoff crossbody (mini 5 zip on sale at Nordstrom Rack!) but may have forgotten to take it back for pictures once I handed it to Mr. photographer to carry it for a hot second (oops!!). Anyway, I’m obsessed with long flowy shirts/sweaters that I can wear leggings and booties with, and the leggings from American Apparel are super comfortable and literally goes with anything! (American Apparel leggings, similar black booties that I am eyeing from DSW and Nordstrom)

Cheers to Wednesday and only having two days left in the work week. So last Friday, my quest to satisfy a sweet tooth and to get a beerita (an upside down corona in a margarita) turned into an impromptu Friday evening photo shoot. It was an extremely rainy week last week, so I was so happy when the weather was nice and the sky was blue Friday after work, especially since we only have so many summer days left (*sign*). What I have on are pieces of clothing that I’ve owned for years – my navy anchor print shorts is from J.Crew and my cream tie-back tank is from Asos. We were walking down Oak Street, which is home to many many luxury boutique, and light bulb went off in my head to pose by these stores….hopefully one of these days I’ll be in a position to actually walk in (HAHA $$$$)!!!
I haven’t worn my navy anchor print shorts yet this ENTIRE summer so I had to pull them out for at least one wear before the fall gets here. My motto is to buy quality & classic pieces of clothing that lasts for years and that never go out of style! With fall on the horizon, I’ve started to look for on sale patterned shorts to stock up for next summer & beyond.
I’m still super obsessed with the new pieces of jewelry from my collaboration with Audaviv. Silver and rose gold, my two favorites to mix and match. Like I mentioned in my last post, the bracelets and rings are all adjustable, which is perfect for my tiny wrists and fingers :)! Check out Audaviv for your next new pieces of jewelry @ www.audaviv.com and use code GIRLS&THREADS for 15% off – free intl shipping included!
And….of course had to take a picture of the reason that led to this photo shoot….my Sprinkles Red Velvet cupcake :). YUM.
Top: Asos (similar here from Urban Outfitters only a few sizes left…Urban typically has more tie-back tanks so you could wait and see if they have more styles in the future, here from Vickerey ($$$), here from Lanston) // Shorts: J.Crew (old – see below for patterned shorts I’m eyeing) // Bag: Kate Spade // Necklace: Stella & Dot (old – here and here for cute layering pieces from Stella & Dot) // Bracelets & Rings: Audaviv // Shoes: Kelly & Katie ( I have these in cream lace as well – super comfortable & cute)
Last of all, below are some of the on sale patterned shorts that I am eyeing to wear next summer (all are from Nordstrom…some really cute ones from there!):

Happy Wednesday and hope you all having a great week so far! I did some reminiscing this past weekend, as it’s almost been 3 years since I moved to Chicago. I’ve never regretted my decision to move here and honestly, it has worked out perfectly, and I consider myself to be extremely lucky. I’ve met some great people—including the BF and new BFFs—xoxo to you all! Cheers to you Chicago, cheers to many many more years living here. I took a stroll up the lakefront, about 1/2 mile from John Hancock, to one of my favorite spots close by North Ave beach that has the most beautiful view of the Chicago skyline (SO MUCH LOVE). Links below to my wardrobe! 🙂
